  4. The Zune focuses on being a Portable Media Player. Not a browser. Not a game machine. Maybe down the road it’ll do better yet in those areas, until then it’s a good way to organize and pay attention to your music and videos, and it is without peer and need rest. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it can be your best option.

  8. Between me and my better half we’ve owned more MP3 players through the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, recent years I’ve been feeling relaxed to one distinct players. Why? Because I was pleased to discover how well-designed and fun to utilize the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, yet not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but just isn’t as fast as Safari, and contains a clunkier interface. If you occasionally consider using the browser that’s not a problem, in case you’re planning to look into the web alot out of your PMP next the iPod’s larger screen and browser could be important.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but having seen how slim and surprisingly small , light it really is, I think it over to be a very unique hybrid that combines qualities of the two Touch plus the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller compared to touch screen, however the player itself feels considerably smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 the maximum amount of, and is also noticeably smaller in width and height, while being merely a hair thicker.

Sorry to the huge review, but I’m really loving the newest Zune, and hope this, at the same time as the excellent reviews a few other people have written, will assist you to decide if oahu is the right choice for you.

  13. If you’re still for the fence: grab your selected earphones, head right down to a Best Buy and have to plug them to a Zune then an iPod to see which one sounds better for your requirements, and which interface allows you to smile more. Then you’ll know which can be right for you.

  28. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  30. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
